Same Issue Motions

Group of Same Issue Motions

June 17, 2021 by Cristina D'Arcy

Cristina D’Arcy and Carmen Eames discuss Group of Same Issue Motions.

Group of Same Issue Motions is a new concept introduced in the latest regulation changes replacing motions with alternatives for general meetings. This approach when voting increases owners’ rights by allowing them to vote for, against or abstain from each motion equally.

Motions dealing with the same issue are identified and grouped together in the agenda (irrespective of resolution type) and voted on separately. The qualified motion is the motion with the most votes in favour and is then qualified by the body corporate.

The following video provides greater detail on the concept. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to reach out to your Community Relationship Manager.
